Description
A glitch is a sudden, unexpected fault in the smooth path of a technological system. This flaw disturbs the harmony of the image concealing the system, and momentarily opens a window that tells a story about its structure. A glitch is commonly used to describe digital and technological errors, but in art this mistake can be generated as a tool for examining current political and cultural matters.
For [leglitchathens] we have used silk as our screen to artificially glitch images of the heavy pillars found on the Acropolis. With light shining through our surface, one can slowly discover more and more layers uncovering the shape of the Parthenon pillars. By destroying these images that paint a picture of Athens’ history and culture, we attempt to give a new colour to the existing system of our city.
