From the exterior part of the species Swietenia macrophylla, this deep-red work is multifaceted: Of direct or indirect lighting, it sits on the steel plates that milled it: primal matter in height, incorporated technology in base. With an incised led strip and intensity modulation, its roughly milled, silky-textured wood secretly incorporates a voltage transformer and a remote-controlled dimmer. A new corpus, earthy, upstanding, luminous: its prismatic, culminating section reconstitutes the solid trunk from which it originated -with its perfectly sharp end pointing up.
