DREAMWALKER
BY MINAS KOSMIDIS IN COLLABORATION WITH DIMITRIS TATARIS
Inspired by the tradition of support de rêves, this piece reinterprets their symbolic value, transforming them from functional objects into contemporary works of art. By using wood as the primary material and incorporating blue in specific areas, the work draws from the timeless nature of organic matter and the spirituality of color, creating a bridge between past and present, material and dream.
On its surface, the word “dream” is inscribed in Braille, emphasizing the multisensory dimension of the object’s experience and highlighting the importance of universal access to meaning and imagination. Additionally, on one of its supports, three eyes—crafted by visual artist Dimitris Tataris—serve as symbolic gazes into the inner and the transcendental, enhancing the interaction between the viewer and the object.
The support de rêves is not merely a sculpture; it is an allegory for the support of intangible pursuits, aspirations, and visions. By blending aesthetic simplicity with conceptual depth, it symbolizes our relationship with dreams, imagination, and the ever-present human need for introspection and transcendence.
Likewise, the name Dreamwalker captures the notion of wandering between reality and dream, embodying the project’s philosophy as a symbolic support for imagination, self-reflection, and the pursuit of the intangible.
