Elina Folerou is a Greek Artist born in Athens in 1976. She paints and makes constructions since early age. She studied in London Architectural Engineering and graduated from University College London (UCL).
Meticulous and experimental, she uses her passion in Architecture, Photography and Art in a harmonious coexistence from early years.
Elina is an emerging artist that transforms everyday life into an idyllic image.
Elina’s work explores a gamut of different colors always vibrant and joyful. She is a self-taught artist influenced by pop art style. She typically works on bold colored multi layered cutout steel to create her contemporary sculptures.
These three – dimensional wall sculptures reflect
senses, emotions, feelings, happiness, memories, dreams…
After composing and drawing each one of her themes they “come to life” by laser cut following dot hand painting. Sometimes the colorful dots are transformed into “city lights” on a night skyline of New York covered in the black night veil and other times they become bright water droplets on surfaces, the blue sky, the
sea waves or the colors of passion…
For the past years, she is focusing on re-interpreting real images into abstract sculptures. An artist that explores themes of everyday life, love and optimism with her vibrant color palette and style.
