Description
Mina Papatheodorou – Valyraki, born in Athens, Greece, graduated with distinction in painting and theoretical studies at the Supreme School of Fine Arts of the National Technical University of Athens under Professor Yiannis Moralis and attained a PHD diploma awarded by the University of Florence, Italy. She has presented her work in more than 60 solo exhibitions and art fairs around the world.
She was granted the IOC “ART AND SPORTS” AWARD 2014 and the USSA ACADEMY AWARD SPORT ARTIST OF THE YEAR “2002-2004”
On November 2016 she presented her solo exhibition “Art in Movement” at the historical Palazzo Giureconsulti in Milan on the occasion of the 34th International FICTS. From December 2016 until February 2017 her exhibition “Endless Speed” was displayed at “ΣΤΟart ΚΟΡΑΗ” in Athens sponsored by the Ethniki Hellenic General Insurance Company. In 2018 she presented the exhibition “Women Bridging Worlds” with B ́ Beth Weldon at Eikastikos Kyklos Gallery which was followed with her exhibition in the Yacht Club of Monaco. In March 2019 she participated with her artwork at the fundraising of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Charity Gala which took place during the Private Label Annual Summit for saving the Mediterranean from the plastics pollution.
In October 2019 she started in Athens the first part of the duet art exhibition “WOMEN IN THE ARTS – A DIALOGUE ABOUT NATURE & ENVIRONMENT” with the artist Mrs Yumi Hogan and in April of 2022 the second part took place in Maryland Hall-USA, where the Governor of the State of Maryland, conferred upon her, his citation for her contribution to strengthen US-GREECE cooperation through art and culture.
On the 29th of July 2023 she returns to the center of the city of Nafplion-Greece, at the Peloponnesian Folklore Museum – V.Papantoniou, 20 years after her exhibition “The mind and the body – 2003” with her new exhibition titled “Environmental Storm” until January of 2024.
