Description
Nikos Yorgos Papoutsidis invented the Ironograph, an art form where painting and sculpture present a unified work on an iron.
Collaborated with the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens Αθηναίων (1996-1999, 2002-2003), the Megaron Athens Music Hall (2000) and the Athens International Airport “El.Venizelos” (2002, 2017-2018, 2024).
In 1997 created the medal and wall mounted sculpture “Benefactors’ ever-lasting-leaves tree” for the exhibition of the “World Hellenism – National Benefactors” event of the Municipality of Athens.
In 1999 his exhibition “Voyage with the ark” inaugurates the new cultural space “Technopolis-Gazi” of the Municipality of Athens.
In 2001 his monumental work “Peace Globe” is placed in “Technopolis-Gazi”, with which Athens salutes the beginning of the 3rd millennium. In the forward face of the work, one can read among other things: “Peace Globe, symbol of the city of Athens in the 3rd millennium”.
In 2018, under the auspices of the Marathon Run Museum, organized at the Athens International Airport “El.Venizelos” a six month exhibition with a selection of his works associated with the Marathon Run Idea.
In 2023, under the auspices of the War Museum in Athens, organized a 5 months exhibition of his sculptures titled “We choose Peace over War”.
Crafted medals, awards, jewelry, music album covers, posters and outdoor banners.
Designed fonts, word compositions and has written Visual Poetry (Ikaros editions, 1987).
His works can be found in public and private collections in Greece and abroad, and have been auctioned in London (Bohnams), Paris (Piasa) and Athens.
Οutdoor, permanently installed sculptures can be found in various places in Greece.
Has completed 22 personal exhibitions (1992-2024) and has participated in 25 group exhibitions (1995-2023) in Greece and abroad.
