Nikos Georgiou was born in Athens in 1961. At a young age he started his journey in the field of marble sculpture learning from his father Ioanni Georgiou. He studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts next to the renowned Dimitri Kalamara. At the same time he continued his apprenticeship in the family workshop in Mets. In 1983 he was offered a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation. From 1992 and for five consecutive years, he was a member of the board of the Greek Sculpture Association and became a member of the Artistic Chamber of Greece, where he belongs until today. At the same time, in 1993 and for 9 years, he started teaching marble sculpture at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He took part in numerous group exhibitions in Greece. His sculptures can be found in public spaces in Greece and abroad as well as in private collections.
